Passions with a purpose…

I feel blessed to be able to do what I love each day and transmit to you my passion for fitness. For me, being FIT has changed so much over the years, but today to me it means balance. That’s why I focus on promoting a healthy, mind, body and soul because being FIT means having a balance of all three.

I was a professional dancer for over 25 years and with that came a lot of pressure. Some of that pressure I was putting on myself but dancing also meant being part of a competitive environment where being weighed weekly was the norm. I loved my career. I got injured a few times but was lucky enough to recover and be able to keep dancing. During my recovery I turned to Yoga and Barre, which opened my eyes to a new way of caring for my body. Yoga brought solace to my soul and the one-inch, half-an-inch movements of Barre allowed my body to heal while it got stronger.

As a professional dancer I had to be fit, but today I realize that fit and healthy are two different things. Now when I talk about a FIT lifestyle, I talk about holistic wellness. Rest is just as important as activity and doing things for you matters. Barre ties in well with holistic wellness as it not only facilitates body awareness, but it also develops mental grit.

I am so grateful that my passion for dance evolved into a passion for teaching fitness. It’s led me to become an entrepreneur and finally launching my own online fitness business. I can choose how I present and transfer knowledge about getting into shape and prioritizing a holistic wellness approach to my clients. Barre Fit Warriors is so special to me because of that!

Nicole Grant is the proud owner and Master Trainer of BFW! Nicole was a professional dancer for over 25 years. She graduated from Ryerson University's Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance/Pedagogy and over the year acquired a number of certifications in many different forms of fitness. To name a few, she is a certified Yoga Instructor in Hatha, Yin, Restorative & Gravity Yoga. Nicole is also a Certified American Barre Technique Master Instructor, and a Piloxing/Piloxing Barre Instructor.
